ABOUT THE DOCTOR
Dr. Kumar is a board-certified and fellowship trained pain management consultant. He is an active staff physician at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, and local surgical centers.
He has an extensive educational background and the most up-to-date medical training in pain management. His interest in pain medicine stems from his research background in chronic pain and spinal physiology, and he utilizes this knowledge in his private practice. He is published in medical journals, is active in numerous medical societies, has lectured extensively on epidural analgesia and opioid pharmacology, and remains involved in medical student education.
Dr. Kumar is a long time local resident of San Diego, growing up and living most of his life in North County. He enjoys spending time with his wife and 5 year-old twins, Max and Chloe, his friends, and his dogs. He feels privileged to live in, and care for the patients of North County, San Diego.

ABOUT THE DOCTOR
Dr. Danny Bachoua is a local San Diegan. He received his Bachelors in Kinesiology from SDSU in 2001. He later went on finish his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at Southern California University if Health Sciences in 2007. Before graduating in 2006 he began his work at San Diego Chiropractic Doctors as an intern and began establishing himself in the community. Dr. Bachoua knows that chiropractic care and the maintenance of the spine are vital components to overall health. Dr. Bachoua performs specific hands-on chiropractic adjustments of the spine and extremities, manual spinal traction, trigger point therapy, Kinesio taping, PNF stretching and myofascial release technique (MRT). Known for his comforting touch and calm manner. Dr. Bachoua quickly sets patients at ease. Dr. Bachoua is composed, explains himself and actively works with his patients to individually guide them to better health and peace of mind. Choll W. Kim, M.D., Ph.D
Board Certified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon
Dr. Choll Kim graduated cum laude from Harvard Medical School and completed his fellowship training in complex spine surgery at the Mayo Clinic. In addition, he is double board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Board of Spine Surgery.
Dr. Kim is an internationally recognized expert in the field of computer-assisted minimally invasive spine surgery. He has trained and continues to train specialists throughout the country on the safe and effective application of state-of-the-art techniques using image guidance and navigation technologies.
Dr. Kim utilizes a broad range of minimally invasive treatments to effectively treat all aspects of complex spinal disorders, including herniated disks, spinal stenosis, adult scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, traumatic injuries, tumors, and infections throughout the entire spine from the neck to the low back. He is one of only a handful of surgeons in the world to master laser endoscopic spine surgery (LESS), a state-of-the-art minimally invasive procedure that effectively treats herniated disks, radiculopathy and sciatica. The LESS procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, in a same day setting and with a small stab incision that is covered with a band aid.
A leader in his field, Dr. Kim is the founder and past-president of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS), the founder of Minimally Invasive Spine Centers of Excellence (MIS-COE), the chair of the MIS Committee for the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS), the director of the Advanced Spine & Joint Institute at Alvarado Hospital and an associate clinical professor at the University of California, San Diego.
Furthermore, Dr. Kim is a Qualified Medical Evaluator and a past voting member of the FDA Orthopedic Devices Panel, which reviews all new spinal technologies. He has designed minimally invasive instrumentation used by surgeons around the world. Dr. Kim is an active member of the North American Spine Society (NASS) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), and a fellow of the Scoliosis Research Society. Dr. Kim has over 200 publications and presentations.
ABOUT THE DOCTOR
Dr. Kim graduated the top of his class at the Chicago School of Medicine, and graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine Anesthesiology Program and Pain Management Fellowship. He is board certified in Anesthesiology with subspecialty certification in Pain Management.
He served as Clinical Instructor at the UCLA School of Medicine and as an attending physician at the California Pain Medicine Center at UCLA, specializing in research and treatment of RSD and non-surgical as well as minimally invasive surgical treatment of the spine. He has been specializing in Spinal implants and Minimally Invasive Laser Endoscopic Discectomy and served as guest lecturer for Medtronics and Boston Scientific neuromodulation system, and as instructor for Clarus Laser Disc Endoscopy.
Dr. Kim also works closely with physical therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and pain psychologists to provide comprehensive pain management care in addition to interventional pain treatments to diagnose and manage difficult chronic pain conditions. He performs a wide array of interventional procedures, including epidural injections, selective nerve root blocks, SI and facet joint injections, RF neuro-ablations, laser discectomy, trigger point injections, lysis of adhesions, peripheral and Spinal Cord stimulator implantations.

About The Doctor
Dr. Yogesh Patel has dedicated his life to the eradication of pain. Dr. Patel practices evidence based medicine and the multi-disciplinary approach to pain management, giving his patients the most options and the best care possible. He has helped many patients with difficult and advanced debilitating pain conditions. Dr. Patel is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Medicine from the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Patel is admired by his colleagues and adored by his patients. Dr. Patel trained at UCSD, one of the highest rated interventional pain fellowship programs in the country. There he trained with pioneers in the field of Pain Medicine, and developed a strong interest in patient education and prevention. At UCSD, he received outstanding acknowledgement in excellent patient care.
Dr. Patel is the founder of MyPainTools, a chronic pain education and prevention program. He feels that knowledge is empowerment, and that educated patients have the best chance for a pain-free lifestyle. Along with MyPainTools and the Coastal Pain eClub, he is actively developing programs to bring support groups and community education opportunities to North County. Dr. Derek Rupp is a 1996 graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles. Dr. Rupp has been a chiropractor treating patients in the Carlsbad area for 17 years. He loves the family atmosphere of his office, and enjoys getting to know the patients and their families.

Dr. Andrew Kohler has been a chiropractor for 26 years. He is a diplomate of the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and is licensed by the State of California as a Radiography X-ray Supervisor and Operator. Dr. Drew received his Bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1979, and graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College-West in 1986. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and served on the Sun Micro Systems Work Comp panel for 10 years.
Dr. Kohler uses a variety of techniques in his clinic, including Diversified, Flexion/Distraction, Activator Method, and Thompson drop. His clinic employs two massage therapists, and a chiropractic assistant.
