San Diego Chiropractic Neurology offers traumatic brain and spinal injury evaluations and treatment services. We do a comprehensive musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and neurological exam. We also are equipped with diagnostic VNG and Dynamic Posturography to aid in brain injury assessments. He specializes in a variety of chiropractic techniques as well as neurological rehabilitation. Dr. Albinder is also a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board where he received a bulk of his neurological training. He has lectured for the Mary Seau CTE Foundation on brain injury.

Currently involved as a fitness expert for a genomic medicine group called MD Revolution he understood how genetics and metabolic actions play in our response to food. Dr. Kunard is an associate member of the American Chiropractic Association, California Chiropractic Association, served as the president of SCUHS sports injury council, a spokesperson for San Diego Triathlon Club, a guest lecturer at Carlsbad High School sports future first. Dr. Chris Jesperson has practiced as a board certified Doctor of Chiropractic and Diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners for the past 35 years in the same location in East San Diego County. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian of his graduating class from Pasadena College of Chiropractic in 1982. Dr. Jesperson is a living example of the “Chiropractic Lifestyle” having been raised in a holistic environment by his father, one of the first chiropractors to practice in El Cajon. His postgraduate and continuing education pursuits through the years have covered a wide range of study and training in all facets of the diagnosis and treatment of the nervous, muscular and skeletal systems of the human body. Dr. Jesperson’s overarching philosophy of health recognizes that the body has been endowed with the innate ability to monitor, regulate and heal itself. Dr. Justin Jesperson is a graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College – Kansas City. After completing clinical work at the VA Hospital in Kansas City and at the Cleveland Health Center, he interned and treated patients at the Head, Neck and Spine Center of San Diego in La Jolla, CA.

As a California Board Certified Chiropractor, Dr. Justin is trained and known for his expertise in various chiropractic techniques such as Diversified, Sacral Occipital Technique, Activator Methods, and Cox-Flexion Distraction. Beyond his college curriculum, he has received specialty training with world renowned doctors involving extremity work, TMJ, complex shoulder conditions, soft tissue therapies as well as chiropractic pediatrics. He has also taken an active interest in the political leadership of his profession, having served as the Vice President of Student American Chiropractic Association on his college campus.

Jon Franks, D.C.

Dr. Jon Franks has been an athlete all his life and understands pain, having broken his back in 1985. He has served as team chiropractor and strength coach for UCLA basketball under the legendary Walt Hazzard. He also worked with the pro volleyball tour for a number of years.

Combining specific exercises and stretches with traditional Chiropractic is the brainchild of Dr. Franks that allows his patients to achieve a balanced health target unachievable solely by manipulation alone. Lifeforce Sports Chiropractic offers same-day or next-day appointments and detailed med/legal evaluations completed within two weeks of patient discharge.

Dr. Franks also worked with the US Olympic boxing team in the 84 Olympics, as well as 6 other countries including Italy, and was offered the Boston Celtics training job in 1987 but opted to stay in southern California.

Ours is a family practice and provides general chiropractic care for conditions such as back and neck pain, headaches, and other musculoskeletal conditions. As a recognized authority in workers’ compensation, Dr. Whalen treats many injured workers, as well as automobile and other accident victims. Dr. Whalen graduated with a BS in Nursing from SDSU in 1978, and served as an ER and Life Flight helicopter nurse for 10 years before completing his DC degree at Palmer West Chiropractic College in 1986. He has served his profession as president of the San Diego County Chiropractic Society and was president of the California Chiropractic Association for 1999-2000. Dr. Whalen is recognized as a chiropractic authority on workers’ compensation and writes and lectures extensively throughout the state. He is a state appointed Qualified Medical Evaluator, a Fellow of the Academy of Forensic and Industrial Chiropractic Consultants, a Fellow of the Internation Academy of Chiropractic Neuroloy and a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including ‘Student of the Year,’ ‘New Doctor of the Year,’ and ‘Doctor of the Year.’
